Client Spotlight: Rex's Family of Restaurants

February 25, 2021

Steamboat Springs, Colorado is known for its famous Champagne Powder and mountain biking trails, the Sleeping Giant, Fish Creek Falls, the hot springs, and all of the incredible restaurants you hit when the day's adventure ends. When Blue Fire's founder first came to town in 1997, she lived the true mountain lifestyle sleeping on a rented couch and waiting tables at Winona's. It was a lucrative means to explore the mountains and gain some legitimate mountain cred after college. A lot of the "Old Guard" have a similar stories in which the restaurants in the valley gave them their first real shot at living in a ski town.

Today one of Blue Fire's favorite clients is Rex's Family of Restaurants, a locally-owned family business with an impressive portfolio of successful restaurants. Seven, if you're counting! To own and successfully run even one restaurant in a seasonal resort town is no small feat, but seven is a true testament to a lot of hard work, a knack for building good relationships, and mad expertise. We have worked with this community-minded business for the past 3 years building their social media platforms. We continue to grow their following across 15 different social channels and we love our role in supporting a business that supports so many locals. Working for Rex's Family is like joining a family, and the opportunities they create for those looking to spend a winter or a lifetime in Steamboat are significant.

🙏🏻 Are we blushing?

We get asked a lot which restaurant is our favorite, and no lie, they are all so good that it is impossible to choose. We think it is who you are with that matters most, so here is our take on where to go with your special peeps.

  • Family Night: Mazzola's! Kids love it. Don't forget to order the Mazzola's Salad. It's tossed at the table and the homemade lemon garlic dressing is unforgettable.
  • Apres ski: Rex's Grill for a burger and a well-deserved beer, cocktail or Bloody Mary.
  • Date Night: Can't decide! The Laundry (love sharing small plates with my love) or Salt and Lime because life is always better with tacos nearby.
  • Ladies Night: Happy hour at The Laundry can't be beat. Wine by the time and their mind-blowing craft cocktails are too fun with a posse of rad mountain mamas. (Hot tip: Pow pow shrimp gets ordered like three times, every time, so go big!)
  • Lazy weekend mornings? No brainer...Creekside Cafe. Order the Benedict and one of their mimosas if you're feeling sassy.
  • No matter what, if you live here or just visit often, be sure to Join the Family. The rewards add up fast, so you won't mind splurging on your next big date night.
